About Me
Hello there, my name is Rory and I am Cincinnati’s Site Surgeon.
I started The Site Surgeon as a way to use my web development skills to help local businesses develop more modern, accessible, and overall better-performing websites. I started out helping my friends and family with their online businesses and was surprised and disappointed by just how limited the functionality of their website-building services were. I saw how much less frustrating a website can be when it is built around the business instead of forced into a rigid template, so after seeing how much a small business can benefit from being able to have a website built precisely to their vision, I decided to branch out and offer my services to the rest of the Tri-State area.
Because I keep my focus local, I’m able to give my clients a higher and more personal level of attention; you’re not competing with hundreds of thousands of other users like you might with a mass-market website builder. I’m available to consult with my clients on the phone, via video conference, or even with an in-person meeting at your business – and when you reach out for support, to request alterations, or new content, you’re getting a direct line to your developer, every time. No AI-powered chat support or confusing transfers between several departments. I also make a point of giving each business owner full ownership of the website designs I create for them; many self-service website builders reserve the rights to all of their templates, meaning that if you ever need to change your host, you might be stuck rebuilding your website from scratch. I’m proud to say that I have never put any of my clients in such a difficult position.
Many of the websites I make are powered by WordPress, the content management system that powers over 60% of the web. If you prefer something much simpler, I am also able to create websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript if that’s a better fit for your project. In addition to my extensive hands-on experience with programming and web development, I’m currently in my second-to-last term of my Software Engineering Master’s Degree from Western Governors University – I am always striving to increase my programming knowledge and skills!
